Hal Deatherage,
Ph. D., P.E. Civil Engineering
Hal Deatherage is a
native of Knoxville, TN. He attained his BS degree from the
University of Missouri at Rolla in 1965 in Geophysics (Rock
Mechanics). A year later he attained his MS degree in Structural
Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 1987. For
the next 20 years Dr. Deatherage was responsible for the
Construction Program in the Department of Civil and Environmental
Engineering at The University of Tennessee. In addition to his
teaching, Dr. Deatherage was an Associate Director in the
Transportation Research Center and an Associate Director for the
Construction Industry Research and Policy Center.
Dr Deatherage has been a Licensed Professional Engineer since 1973.
He was the Principal in a Consulting Firm specializing in
engineering and architectural services.

David Chapman,
Ph. D., P.E. Civil Engineering
David Chapman is a native of Knoxville, TN by way of Ashville, NC.
He returned to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee in
1998, and has since earned a Bachelors of Science of Civil
Engineering, a Master’s of Science of Civil Engineering with
Construction Engineering Concentration, and a Doctor of Philosophy
in Civil Engineering with Construction Engineering Concentration.
Dr. Chapman has taught construction related courses at the graduate
and undergraduate level at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Chapman
has been involved with several TDOT (Tennessee Department of
Transportation) sponsored research projects. Most recently Dr.
Chapman managed the research efforts concerning the Massman Dr.
Bridge in Nashville, TN.

Megan
Brooks, P.E.,
M.S. Civil Engineering
Megan Brooks is a native of Elkton, Maryland. She moved to Knoxville to attend
school at the University of Tennessee where she received both her Bachelors and
Masters
of Science in Engineering. Her Master’s degree was earned in 2004 with a
concentration
in the area of traffic and transportation engineering.
Ms. Brooks has experience working with local and state government agencies in
both traffic engineering and transportation planning departments. She has also
worked
with a small environmental engineering firm in Oklahoma while being stationed
there for
her husband’s Air Force pilot training. They are both glad to be settled back
permanently in Tennessee.

Tate
Geren, E.I.T.,
M.S. Civil Engineering
Tate Geren is a native of
Knoxville, Tennessee. He received a BA degree from Maryville
College in Maryville, TN in 2008. He then returned to Knoxville
to complete his BS degree in Civil Engineering in 2009 from the
University of Tennessee, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. In
2010 he received a MS in Environmental Engineering. His Master's
degree in Environmental Engineering was with a concentration in
the area of water resources. While
completing his MS at the University of Tennessee, Tate wrote his
thesis entitled, “Streamflow Reconstructions of Southern Appalachian
(North Carolina) Headwater Gages Using Tree Rings.” During this
study, Tate successfully reconstructed May-June-July streamflow for
three streams in the study area. This was the first attempt at
streamflow reconstruction in Southern Appalachia.

Patrick
McMahon, P.E., M.S. Civil Engineering
Patrick McMahon is a native of
Knoxville, TN where he earned his Bachelor of Science and
Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering at the
University of Tennessee in 2003 and 2005 respectively.
Following completion in 2005, Patrick moved to Anchorage,
Alaska to pursue a career in water resources engineering.
Patrick relocated to Maryville, Tennessee in 2007
maintaining his work in Alaska through telecommuting and
frequent travel. In early 2009, Patrick returned to the
University of Tennessee to pursue a Doctorate in Civil
Engineering while continuing to work as a professional
engineer.
