Patrick McMahon

Patrick McMahon is a native of
Knoxville, TN where he earned his Bachelor of Science and
Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering at the
University of Tennessee in 2003 and 2005 respectively.
Following completion in 2005, Patrick moved to Anchorage,
Alaska to pursue a career in water resources engineering.
Patrick relocated to Maryville, Tennessee in 2007
maintaining his work in Alaska through telecommuting and
frequent travel.
In early 2009, Patrick returned to the University of
Tennessee to pursue a Doctorate in Civil Engineering while
continuing to work as a professional engineer. His research
focus is improving existing engineering models for bed-load
transport in alluvial systems to aid engineers in the design
of dynamically stable and safe stream mitigation projects.
His work experience includes creation of municipal
stormwater management guidelines, development of floodway
studies, stream restoration design, storm drain design,
drainage improvement design, environmental permit
compliance, and general civil engineering related to
municipal development.
Patrick’s primary contribution to Construction Engineering
Consultants is performing forensic hydrologic and hydraulic
engineering analyses related to litigation support services.
